Preparations

Bonjour! If you're reading this, you (hopefully) know me, and (possibly) know that I'm going to Montreal to study for a month with 9 strangers! I won't have my phone, so I'll be updating this page as frequently as possible with stories and pictures of what I experience so feel free to check in as frequently as you desire. I'll try to be humorous but I'll probably just ramble, so bear with me.

Many stories will probably involve me failing at speaking French to les habitants de Montreal (not the hockey team - I wouldn't talk to them... ok, I would) because even though my last name is extremely French, I barely speak 2 words, and when I try, I have a strong Spanish accent... but I'm not Spanish... so that's a little awkward. I'll be using Google Translate to try to make myself sound intelligent using French on "Nina goes to Canadia" and to hopefully not prove the ignorant American stereotype, but it will probably conjugate it wrong or something and I'll still look like an American. Other stories will probably involve me embarrassing myself in public because I'm too clumsy to survive a day without injuring myself. I'm already rambling - oops.

This was titled "Preparations" but I haven't really prepared yet so I guess that's a fail. Better start packing, I guess! Au revoir, and the next time I post I'll be in Canada!
