Today we took a trip to the Miles Davis exhibit as part of one of our classes, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. We saw his instruments and heard samples of his music, as well as seeing some of his original transcriptions of the music everyone knows and loves. We got to know a little bit more depth about the history of his music and his life, and it was an absolutely amazing exhibit.
There was no photography allowed in the exhibit so this was the best I could do.
After a long nap, we headed off to Hurley's. It's an Irish pub, and we were there to hear an amazing trio of musicians perform authentic Irish songs. One of the artists was David Gossage on flute and about a million other instruments, and Jonathan Moorman KILLED the fiddle - amazing. I was astounded by the talent of these three guys, and I can't wait to go back this weekend and kick back another pint of Guinness and enjoy the phenomenal talent of the group.
p.s. for my best friend - I wore my weird shoes today! Sheridin thinks they're cool. I felt hip.
